Two days of workshops in Lyon for the European INTREPIDH Project!

On 20 and 21 January, the European INTREPIDH project brought together all its partners for two days dedicated to the link between heating networks and industry.
This event provided an opportunity to explore this topic, bringing together local and national French stakeholders with the partners of the INTREPIDH consortium.
The consortium has eight members, including several key players in the energy transition in Europe, such as Deutsche Energie-Agentur (dena), DBDH (District Board of District Heating, NRW. Energy4Climate, the city of Rostock, the SDEWES Centre and Axelera.
Among the guests were: AURA-EE (Local Energy Agency), CEREMA (Public Operator for Territorial Energy Transition), Coriance and Dalkia (District Heating Operators), as well as Syensqo and Arkema (Industries).
The morning was dedicated to public and institutional players, presenting the French, German and Danish equivalents (role of ADEME, CEREMA with the EnRezo project and its recent update, scope of action of local authorities, AURA-EE, etc.).
The afternoon brought together operational stakeholders, with the sharing of views and perspectives from district heating operators (Coriance and Dalkia) and industrial customers (Syensqo, Arkema), who shared their needs and expectations regarding heat supply. Danish experts also contributed their extensive expertise on the subject, presenting lessons learned on the reuse of waste heat for district heating.
Participants collaborated in workshops based on their profiles:
- For public/institutional stakeholders, the workshop invited them to propose measures to strengthen the links between heating networks and industry.
- For operational stakeholders, the workshop consisted of defining a framework for an economic model that would benefit each stakeholder, based on different typical use cases.

Finally, the two days concluded with a visit to the CETIAT technical centre, which hosted the event, allowing participants to view the test and certification benches for all the technologies used in heating.

Thank you to all participants, we look forward to seeing you in Rostock in April for the next workshop!
